Hello and happy (almost) Independence Day to all my American friends!
While everyone’s beauty needs are different – as we are all beautiful and unique snowflakes – I wanted to share some beauty products that have made my life a lot easier, in case they are of value to you as well:
Hair: I have very fine hair so one of my main tasks when getting ready is volumizing. This leave in spray is AWESOME for building body and adding some texture to my locks. My hair can be kind of “slippery” and this product gives it just a little more texture – which makes all the difference! Not only can you spray your wet hair and blow it dry for a super polished look, but you can also let it air dry with this product or even use it to revitalize yesterday’s look. Genius! I love it!
Another Amika product I love is this dry conditioner. I’m sure that by now you’ve heard of dry shampoo, but dry conditioner is also a “thing.” When I use dry shampoo to stretch my ‘dos to the max I find spraying a little of this product (just on the ends of my hair) helps it go back to that 1st day softness. Just don’t spray your roots if you have oily hair like I do.
I also love Bumble and Bumble’s products and two of them really stand out in my book. They can be pricey, but sometimes I luck out and find them for way cheaper at TJMaxx, woot!
- This one is a texturizer and it’s a great way to make hair look a little less “done.” It’s a lighter version of a pomade – and it works great for fine/limp hair. It doesn’t weigh it down like so many other products.
- This one might be the best of the bunch because it does double duty – not only does it thicken up my dry hair, but it adds texture as well. If I’m pressed for time I skip using both the blowout spray (when hair is wet) and the City Swept finisher (once it’s dry) and I’ll just spray this stuff on my hair (when it’s dry) as I fluff it and it acts like a texturizer and a hairspray. It’s amazing!!
Finally, this list would not be complete without my magic moisturizer from Peter Thomas Roth. I say it’s magic because it makes fine lines disappear thanks to the hyaluronic acid it contains. It’s lightweight, yet powerful!
I use it both under and over my makeup and they both work great. It’s even cheaper than the Estee Lauder moisturizer I used to use, woot! I usually buy it in a multipack/kit like this one since you get a lot of extra product for a super low price, along with the moisturizer itself.
So those are my picks, what are your favs?
XO, Kate
