Hello! I hope you are doing well and enjoying the holiday season. I have definitely been in the spirit lately between baking, decorating, drinking hot cocoa, and of course watching my beloved Hallmark movies. I wanted to share some of the festive decor I’ve bought recently with you all, but also just share some non-holiday buys that have added joy to my life. I realize I’m a bit late for this year’s decor as today is Christmas lol – but I actually like buying Christmas stuff out of season because it’s so cheap!
My holiday glow got a little brighter recently as our couch was finally delivered!!! After spending my entire adult life to date using dirt cheap or hand me down sofas we finally bought a nice couch and recliner from La-Z-boy when we first moved in. That was back in late July. Unfortunately, like many people, we had to wait quite a while for it to be delivered (we did not even consider ordering a custom one as those were not expected to arrive for over a year!). When it finally arrived in early December I was over the moon! It is made with truly high quality leather and the seats on the ends recline as much/are as comfortable as the ones they have at the “fancy movie theater,” Cinepolis! I fall asleep on it more than I’d like to admit 😉
We also got a rocker recliner, which I didn’t even really know was a”thing.” Leo insisted we get it, even though 3 recliners for 2 people seems a bit excessive. I’m glad we did because it is truly awesome! I cannot say enough good things about these two pieces. I feel like a true adult!
Post-move I have not been able to find a big box of Christmas decor (grr) so I grabbed a few things we were missing from Amazon and Target. First off, how adorable is this tree topper? I usually go for star or an angel, but I could’t resist the cuteness. I also purchased this tree skirt from a different seller and they look so good together! I also found this beautiful garland for our mantle, which perfectly matches our new front door wreath, and this doormat (which got way better reviews than a similar one from Amazon at the same price).
This runner is well worth the $45 Target is asking. It has a non-skid bottom and the quality is much nicer than one would expect at this price point. Others must agree with me as 80% of the reviews were 5 star! It’s supposedly machine washable, but I am a bit leery about that idea. Luckily the little bit of distressing is good camouflage.
I also recently snagged this double decker air mattress: which passed the friend test when Sarah stayed with me – she said it was very comfy, she just gave it a little extra air each night before bed to ensure it was nice and firm. And last, but certainly not least, I discovered these boot inserts, which are a fantastic and cheap solution for storing tall boots. A really great find IMO.
OK, that’s about all for today, but I’ll be back soon. Love you guys! Take care…
XO, Kate
