I often find that life has better things in store for me than I could have expected and this recent shipping mix up is another example:
Like many other ladies I love boots and I’ve been so excited to wear them more as it’s cooler up here in NorCal than it was in SoCal, but I really only have booties in my closet. So I’ve been on the hunt for some affordable tall boots, mainly to pair with midi dresses so I can keep wearing them as the temps drop. So I headed over to the DSW website and found these beauties.
The measurements were perfect for me (I have pretty long and strong legs so some boots are too tight/short) so I figured I’d give them a try. When they arrived I was so excited to try them on that it actually took me quite a while to realize that they sent the wrong boots. They were brown suede, but I (eventually) noticed the heel looked different than I expected and that they were knee high boots, not OTK boots, so I checked the box and sure enough they were not the boots I ordered. But it turns out they are awesome and fit perfectly! I found myself trying them on over and over again, but I still wanted to see what the other pair would look like in person so I called DSW and they said they’d send me the original pair at no charge so I could compare the two. I am expecting them to arrive today, but at this point I am not sure they’ll stack up to these babies. I’ll let you know 😉 I also really like this pair with a kitten heel. Normally I would avoid a stiletto heel, but 2 inches seems doable.
How cute do these boots look with a midi dress?? I left the dress unbelted for the shots with the boots, but I’ll most likely wear a belt as it’s so much more flattering. But more waif-like ladies may find they like the dress better unbelted. I’m stoked I can keep wearing this dress this dress throughout the winter! I’ll probably throw this sweater on top or perhaps my trusty black leather Moto jacket (similar).

This dress is still available in many colors and I do recommend it, just wait for a sale and size way down (I am wearing a small). This was the color I originally wanted and it’s on sale! I also wanted this lovely dress, but I have to draw the line somewhere haha.
