Hello loves! I hope the second half of 2019 is treating you well!
While I don’t actually have any summer weddings to attend this year, this look is probably what I would choose for such an occasion. This wrap dress is so flattering/forgiving and the material is great for hot summer days. There are a few other colors available and they are all on sale right now!
Thankfully I didn’t find this dress to be too sheer or too short, but if that were an issue one could easily add some bloomers underneath for a little extra modesty. Because it’s a true wrap dress it is quite adjustable, but I still found I needed to pin it closed at the bust.
It does wrinkle a bit, but it’s really not that big of an issue – for me at least. If I didn’t already have over 100 dresses (she says sheepishly) I might have to buy this little number in the pink pattern. But I’ll restrain myself for now haha.
Since it is a tiny dress I added a lightweight cardi from my office days (yes, it is likely over a decade old!) to avoid showing too much skin, but I can also see this looking adorable under a sweater or paired with a moto jacket.I’m definitely going to be layering this during the colder months. I love the little ruffle on the skirt so much! I’m glad they skipped a ruffle on the bust as my girls are prominent enough as it is 😉
I had no clue when I bought this clutch that it would become such a staple – I seriously use it as a wallet on the daily. Pink is a neutral in my book! This particular clutch is sold out, but how cute is this Coach one (on sale of course!)?
Speaking of great buys, this watch/fitness tracker is the best! I also loove this rose gold version, but I thought the brown leather/gold watch face might be more versatile with my closet. The fact that you can swap out the leather straps for some rubber ones (I bought mine on Amazon) is such a genius idea.
When I get dressed up I use the leather straps, but otherwise I stick with the rubber ones since they are showerproof. I love when people compliment me on my watch and then they realize it’s also a fitness tracker – you would never know unless you see it light up!
Since I do already have so many beautiful articles of clothing I’m trying to “shop my closet” more often these days and combine things that maybe I normally wouldn’t instead of buying new stuff. It is a great way to get creative and find some fun and unexpected combos!
I’m thinking this dress would also be really fun with a vest, I’ll have to give that a try. I used to feel a little uncomfortable wearing things that are not at all practical in my mind, like a vest, but trying new things does tend to feel a little weird until you get used to it. What new things have you tried lately?
dress (40% off!), cardigan (old): similar inexpensive option, similar higher quality option, heels, clutch (similar)
Until next time! XO, Kate
