Summertime Sparkle

Leith is an awesome brand; if you haven’t checked them out you should! Not only it is a very affordable line, but they are always coming out with new, classic and chic pieces. I have this dress in black and pink and I love them both.

A bodycon – aka body conscious – dress is great for showing off one’s curves! This is also the brand that I showcased in this post from earlier this year. That dress is still available in some sizes (I’m wearing a L in this dress and a M in the other post FYI, it just depends on how form fitting you want it to look) and the white version is on sale! I highly recommend it! It’s perfect for fall as the fabric is on the thicker side.

While this V-Neck Bodycon is not currently available, I found some dupes here and here (both under $20!). And how cute is this tank version and this pink one?! I’ve noticed that certain Leith pieces will sell out, but then they bring them back shortly thereafter, often in more colors. I bet this dress will come back in stock and when it does I want to get another color.

This might sound a little funny, but since I’m always looking to maximize the wearability of my closet I sometimes buy an item that I’ll wear now, but I suspect will also make a good maternity dress. This is one of those pieces that I know would work well for that stage of life. Other reviewers and bloggers have mentioned how well it works on those with a baby bump and I agree – it’s important to accentuate your curves when pregnant to avoid looking bigger than you are.

A bodycon may not be as forgiving as some other cuts, but I’ve come to realize that trying to look like the stick thin model wearing it online is not just unrealistic, but I now don’t even want to. I like that I have curves. We’re the only ones who scrutinize ourselves so terribly – others are just admiring the view (and thinking about their own insecurities).

My clutch is under $20 and it’s available in 10 colors! It looks a lot more luxe than you’d expect for the price. I know I’ll get a lot of use from it for upcoming formal events. Here’s a rectangular one I also really like.

I actually got these shoes (on sale for under $35!) for free. Say what?! Yep! DSW surprised me by sending me a gift card after seeing an Instagram pic featuring a pair of their shoes. I bought these with it and I’m so glad I did!

They are PERFECT for any formal event. The height and wide toe strap combine to make them uber comfy. And who doesn’t love a glittery gold ankle strap heel? You cannot go wrong with a pair of gold or silver heels – they go with everything!

My bracelet is also from DSW. I love it! It’s already sold out, but this one and this one (under $10!) also caught my eye.
