Tonal Outfit

Ever have one of those “I just don’t know what to wear” days? Silly question, right? I’m pretty sure we all have. Well, one easy solution when you’re unable to decide is to create a monochromatic/tonal look.

The idea is to put together pieces of varying tones within the same shade, in this case grey. IMO tonal looks are tres chic!

Even though I have tons of options in my closet, I almost always find myself reaching for something comfy when getting dressed. Therefore a blazer made out of sweater material is a no-fail option. This one is quite old, but I found this one, this one, this one, and this one online that I think would be great options for work and beyond. This one from Anthro is pretty pricey, but so darn cute! Comfy and pulled together? Yes please!

Light grey jeans can be a little less forgiving than darker colors, but it’s nice to have some non-blue skinnies. I’ve had this pair for a few years and I wear them quite a bit. See the 2018 version of these skinnies here. Just be warned, the sizing of H&M’s pants and jeans seem to vary A LOT so it’s a good idea to try them on in-store if possible.

I discovered this pretty little starfish necklace when I was out and about in Pt. Loma one day. I don’t buy many things on impulse these days – well ok, maybe just less than before – but I made an exception for this one.

Isn’t it cute?! I have become a big believer in shopping with a plan as it helps one avoid buyer’s remorse, but when something really catches your eye and you don’t want to leave it behind I think you should honor that as well. Non-purchase regret is a real thing too!

If you happen to be in the area check out Rare Bloom Boutique (2841 Canon St., San Diego). It’s one of the few boutiques I’ve entered and actually wanted to buy most the stuff! Usually boutiques seem crazy expensive or crazy cheap, but this one had seemingly quality stuff at affordable prices. Woo hoo! I also bought a handmade card there that was adorable.

Sadly this camisole is no longer available anywhere except on eBay, but I found a super cute cami from Abercrombie’s website that has a similar feel. The pink is SO cute! And this one and this one would be good basics for any closet. I have roughly 10 camis and I don’t regret buying any of them. They always come in handy!

Vince Camuto’s bags are now dominating my closet and I’m totally okay with that! I couldn’t find this “Ayla tote” for sale anywhere online right now, but you can buy it at full pop here if it fits in your budget. Knowing Amazon I bet it’ll go on sale eventually. Keep in mind you can use Shoptagr to alert you when it does.

These pumps (last seen on the blog here) are 60% off right now! They are quality shoes for sure. I bet these will hold up for a long time. They would make great work heels and all sizes are still available!
