Oh the shimmer! I do love me some sparkles!
This dress had been on my mind for a long time after seeing it online, but I never snapped it up because I wasn’t sure how it would look in person. I finally spotted it at a TJMaxx and was happy to see it’s gorgeous IRL! It’s lightweight and so easy to throw on – perfect for summer!
The fact that it includes rose gold, yellow gold, and silver also made it right up my alley! I’ve been wearing it with a mixed metal necklace my lovely sister gave me because you know this girl can’t resist being a little matchy matchy. I also think it would look super cute with this one and this one (which is under 4 bucks!).
Sadly I could not find this dress in my color online anymore, but here’s the white version (which was pretty adorable in person). I’ve also been eyeing this little lady that has some very similar features. Both the ivory and plum versions are adorable and great for the summer heat.
I tried it on and immediately knew it had to be mine – and as a bonus it was cheaper than I’d seen it online by quite a bit. Thanks to my friend Sarah (a proud Maxxinista!) I’ve become quite the fan of TJMaxx. You can find current brand name items for less than half of the original cost!
Whether you’re shopping in-store or online you do need some patience as there is a lot of stuff to weed out, but you really can get some amazing deals. Unfortunately you cannot shop by brand on their website, but I still think the savings warrant the extra time it takes.
The heels and clutch are both old buys, but I found these edgy/fancy silver kitten heels that stopped me in my tracks and this box clutch, both of which are very affordable.
Like so many Free People dresses, this one is very short – unless you’re petite – and unfortunately I forgot to wear my bloomers underneath so it does look a little scandalous. The windy day didn’t help either!
But I’ve worn this little beauty many times this summer (love it with black booties!) and with some kind of under layer it’s totally acceptable in my book. I love my go-to bloomers from Amazon for the little bit of lace at the hem – and a little extra coverage.
I went a little more dressy with the styling for this look and I really liked how it came together. I could see myself wearing this to a slightly formal event, but I stumbled upon this metallic flutter sleeve dress just now that would be amazing for a dressy night out. I want!!
Yay for another winner from Free People – at a low price!!
XO, Kate
