To me nothing says 90’s fashion more than a slip dress, combat boots, and a moto jacket so when I put on this outfit I flashed right back to the days of Daria, 10 Things I Hate About You, and Clueless. How I love/d all three of those!
Sadly this dress from Nasty Gal is selling out quickly and there are only a couple sizes left (the size 10 fit me great, FYI). However, it’s a great, much less expensive option if you like the style of the “Sydney” dress from Sanctuary. They both have a subtle 90’s vibe. This is another affordable option. See my recent post on the white version of the Sydney dress here.
You could go all out with combat boots and a flannel around your waist or give it a bit of 2017 update like I did. I guess I didn’t pay attention to the description as I expected it to be the kind of polyester that doesn’t stretch, but it’s quite stretchy. I have actually worn it more as a nightgown than a dress lately. It’s so comfy!
I don’t know how long they plan to offer it, but they are offering 50% off of all orders on Nastygal.com. Score! One thing to note – my order shipped from the UK. It arrived in a reasonable amount of time and it was kind of fun to have something ship from another country, but it was a little unexpected.
I haven’t ordered anything from them in a few years, but last time it shipped from within the US. I guess they’ve made some changes because I noticed that the sizing on the tag is in UK sizing, even though the sizes listed online are the US equivalent.
I am so loving this cooler weather! I’ve really been looking forward to wearing my jackets and sweaters. While it’s not all that cold during the day (except today – it’s raining!) it is starting to feel like fall and I can usually add a layer in the evenings.
So of course I had to break out my oxblood suede jacket! One of the best things about buying classic pieces is that you don’t have to “retire” them after 1 or 2 years. This almost red/almost brown color is perfect for fall and goes with just about anything.
While this exact jacket is no longer available, I spotted this faux leather jacket at Express and I can see it being perfect for fall. It has 10 5 star reviews for a reason! I also think this open front moto jacket is super cool. The sizes are limited in the oxblood color, but there are some other colors to choose from.
I have gotten so much wear out of these booties, they are surprisingly comfortable for the height! Politics aside, Ivanka Trump does have some pretty cute shoes in her line.
My awesome Vince Camuto “Ayla” Satchel is still available – and it’s on sale! I highly recommend it. I’ve had it for close to a year now and it still looks pristine. Satchels (with a shoulder strap) have become my favorite style of bag due to their versatility. Is it just me or do some purses fall right off your shoulder too? Grr.
These pics were taken right before the hubs and I went out for dinner and I’d forgotten what a beautiful time of day “golden hour” is. It’s hard to take a bad shot with such pretty and soft lighting.
Although reviewing these pics really reminded me that I need to smile in my photos. You have probably heard of resting bitch face, but I’m afflicted by it’s cousin – resting sad face. If I’m just chillin’ somewhere, in my own little world I often get comments like, “what’s wrong?” And “are you ok?” Lol
What are you most excited to wear now that it’s officially fall?
Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you come back soon!

I love this dress 90’s vibes on you! I’m wearing sweaters yet cause it’s already cold there… but I love fall as much as the summer 🙂

Thank you Dasynka! We’re not quite into sweater territory yet, but I’m looking forward to it. It’s supposed to get to the mid 80’s this week – darn it. Yet everyone else is missing summer. I guess the key is to enjoy what we have, while we have it 😉 Have a fab day!

Jackets and boots are the two of the many reasons why I love fall. You got a lovely suede jacket and boots there babe. Also, cute dress.
